Lane’s Lutherie & Violins is staffed by craftsmen committed to providing you with the highest quality in the care of your instrument. Our craftsmen are not only trained luthiers, they are musicians as well. We feel that this ability brings a more discerning faculty to the repair of your instrument. They understand a musician’s concerns, and will go above and beyond expectations to address those concerns.

Repairs and restorations are an important part of our work. We perform all violin, viola, and cello repairs including bow rehairing, bridge fitting, soundpost adjustment, fingerboard replacements, peg replacement, crack and seam repairs. We also perform all repairs and restorations to guitar and all other fretted instruments as well as being a warranty repair center for both Martin and Taylor guitars.

A restoration can be as simple as gluing an open seam or as complex as removing the top and back of an instrument. The goal of every restoration is to return the instrument to top playing condition with the least amount of alteration to the original structure of the instrument. The utmost care is taken to preserve the original varnish and wood.
